The Central Radiopharmacy provides a comprehensive set of products and services to five Winnipeg based Nuclear Medicine Departments and is involved with ongoing research and educational activities.

As a Technical Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to share and participate in our growing program, including collaborating with the Nuclear Medicine team. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiopharmacy including supervision of staff; acting as a team leader/resource for a wide range of radiopharmaceutical procedures, including the production of radiopharmaceuticals and quality assurance testing for same; participating in and accountable for, a variety of special procedures and functions; and for designated regulatory functions.

Introducing the Canadian College of Radiopharmaceutical Scientists

As an initiative of the Canadian Association of Radiopharmaceutical Scientists and the Canadian Society of Nuclear Medicine, a taskforce has been established to develop a plan for certification of radiopharmaceutical practitioners. Certification is initially to be voluntary, and upon successful adoption of the process by stakeholders, mandatory certification will be pursued.

Goals of certification include: setting and maintaining standards for the radiopharmaceutical sciences, providing a career structure for radiopharmaceutical scientists, promoting awareness of radiopharmaceutical science as a career choice, and facilitating movement nationally.
